Artelurr is an upcoming monster to Pillar Chase 2. It is an original monster owned by PhoenixFinch and designed by TheGreaterSis, originally designed for a now canned horror game that Phoenix was working on before moving the character to Pillar Chase, who will also appear as a major character in Phoenix's upcoming animated series: "Case: Snow Owl".
Appearance[]
Artelurr is a large, fully-white deer-like creature with a build similar to a centaur. It has areas on it's main body where red flesh is exposed, as well as massive blackened hooves. It's upper body has a large indent in the middle to house a human skull, and a large, blackened ribcage. Below this ribcage is a neck pouch with red flesh inside, used to store corpses. It also visibly has massive blackened antlers on each side of it's upper body.
Gameplay[]
Artelurr is going to be a slow ambush monster, as described by PhoenixFinch.
The moveset outlined below is not final, and are ideas by PhoenixFinch.

Lore + Fun Facts[]
The Artelurr is a highly dangerous species which feed primarily on humans, similarly to the Vita Mimic. Unlike the Vita Mimic, however, it most likely existed during the stone age, evident due to cave paintings depicting it being discovered.
Fun Facts[]
- Artelurrs don't hit maturity until 100.
- The Artelurr in Pillar Chase is between 70-100 years old and is considered a young adult.
- All of its main organs are located near its front legs beneath its neck pouch.
- Artelurrs can grow up to 200 years old.
- Artelurrs skin feels like rocks.
- Artelurrs body is below freezing temperatures. To combat this, the exposed bits of flesh on its body act similarly to vents. They relax and allow the outside temperature to warm up the inside temperature.
- If Artelurr was placed in a desert it would die due to stress.
- Artelurr CANNOT be befriended by humans as it is hardwired to hunt them. If you tried to befriend one it would basically be a free meal for it.
- Artelurr can survive in any other environment. However, the hotter it is the more uncomfortable it would be.
- Artelurr flesh is not edible and eating it would cause internal frostbite due to Artelurrs natural below freezing body temp. If you tried to cook its flesh, it would simply melt into liquid.
- Artelurr is unable to make sounds as it does not have vocal chords.
- Artelurr can mimic human voices if their vocal chords are still intact after eating. It doesn't actually know what its saying, but it recognizes phrases that could lure in more victims.
- Artelurr's Lures are the remains of its past victims. It freezes their body and melts their insides into a liquid (like how a Spider would eat it's prey) via injecting them using a stinger located at the bottom of its neck pouch which stabs into the victims tail bone. This leaves a skin husk that has been frozen solid. It then uses its tendrils to control this skin husk to lure in the next victim.
Trivia[]
- At first, PhoenixFinch didn't plan on moving Artelurr to Pillar Chase 2, since he saw it as being more animal than monster and didn't think the way it was designed to work in its planned game would translate well into Pillar Chase. Over time, however, Phoenix changed his mind after he found a way to make it work without changing too much.
- It was also nicknamed "Snow Owl" while Phoenix was working on its game, as it didn't have an official name until he decided to move the monster to Pillar Chase.
- The amount of positivity the character had received from the Pillar Chase 2 community has helped led PhoenixFinch to revive old concepts for Artelurr previously for the canned horror game for "Case: Snow Owl" instead.
- The idea for both Artelurr and the game it was meant to feature in came to mind while Phoenix was listening to "Cycles Encore", which is what inspired his envision of it. The original idea for the monster was much more human-like, either resembling The Thing design-wise.
- Artelurr is confirmed to be genderless, and is referred to with it/its pronouns.
- It is estimated that if Artelurr were measured with real-life measuring units, it would stand at about 15 to 17 feet on average.
- Artelurr's head can be seen on a mantle over the fireplace in the updated lobby.
- When Artelurr releases, it will be taller than Ao Oni and Inkfell standing upright, although still shorter than Suitmations.
- Artelurr is the oldest upcoming monster which is yet to be added ingame.
- One could consider The Host Of Influence to be just as old, however at the moment it is unconfirmed.
- Artelurr's model resembles a lot like the Jötunn seen in the movie The Ritual.
