EXE (Also known as Faker) is the fifth monster added in Pillar Chase 2. He is one of many "EXEs", creepypasta characters based off of both the original Sonic.EXE and the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise as a whole, created and owned by Raven. He is most popularly known for his appearance in the Friday Night Funkin' mod, Vs Sonic.EXE, though he will also be the main antagonist of his own upcoming game, Sonic Prototype 2017. He can be unlocked for 1350 coins in the shop (Previously 1425 coins before the Black Friday Event's conclusion).
Appearances[]
Faker[]
EXE's Faker form resembles the classic design of Sonic, but with many subtle alterations. He is missing buckles and belts on his shoes, has blue arms, and said blue is desaturated and darkened, and a protruding brow line that makes him appear to have an angrier expression. His quills end in pitch-black points, and unlike Sonic, his eyes are clearly separated rather than just appearing to be one eye with two pupils.
EXE[]
Upon turning into his true, playable form, EXE is much taller and lankier. His skin becomes complete pale grey, his eye sockets stretch, and his eyes become completely dilated, becoming black with apparent red pupils with X like "gaps" (Though they only appear in his kill or Too Slow animations). His mouth stretches as well, displaying a row of sharp teeth as well as exposed gums and flesh. His snout and nose become more animalistic, and his gloves and socks meld into his body.
Gameplay[]
EXE has 105 Stamina, 20 Sprint Speed, and deals 45 DMG per hit. Ironically, despite being based off of Sonic the Hedgehog, he is currently the fifth slowest monster in-game. He has 2 abilities: Too Slow and Thorny Grave. The former lets him catch up to and deal heavy damage to unsuspecting players, while the latter lets him lock down areas of the map to make up for his reduced speed.
Keybind | Name | Ability | Description | Effect |
---|---|---|---|---|
Passive | You Can't Hide |
Every 11 seconds, EXE will sniff the air, briefly highlighting any player that is within 105 studs of him. |
Highlights players briefly. | |
M1 | M1 | EXE swings his right claw, dealing 45 damage. | Deals damage to players. | |
1 | Too Slow | When pressing 1, EXE will charge forward with an outstretched hand. If he comes in contact with a player, he will grab them for 10 damage, then bite them in the face for an additional 40, dealing 50 damage overall. Afterwards, he will wipe his mouth, giving the player some time to escape during the animation. During the bite animation, EXE regenerates stamina while the survivor does not. Has a 15 second cooldown. | Easier mobility and deals damage to players. | |
2 | Thorny Grave | When pressing 2, EXE will place a oval of black tendrils on the floor at his exact location. If a player steps on it, they will be trapped and have to hold E 15 times to free themselves from the trap. Other players can also help free the trapped player by holding E repeatedly while near them. When a player is caught in a Thorny Grave, they will be highlighted for the duration, and EXE will gain a brief speed boost.
The trap will kill the player if they are 5 HP or under. EXE can place up to 5 traps at a time. Has a 5 second cooldown. |
Traps any players until they are freed, highlights players who are trapped, and provides a temporary speed boost for the monster. |
Removed Abilities[]
Keybind | Name | Ability | Description | Effect |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Found You | When pressing 1, EXE would teleport to the nearest player, filling that player's screen with static and giving EXE a brief, slight speed boost. If a player is stuck in a Thorny Grave, he would teleport to it instead.
This ability was removed due to EXE's creator, Raven, stating that EXE is unable to teleport. As well as this, the move clashed with EXE's slower, pursuit-based playstyle. However, it was later reused and reworked for PCX. |

Trivia[]
- EXE's model was made by PhoenixFinch. Faker's original model was made by TheBladeNinja and edited by Phoenix.
- His sound effects were made by Madzilla, who is also the voice actor for EXE's "Faker" form in the upcoming Sonic Prototype 2017.
- EXE’s Full Render was made by Razima, while their Alternate Render was made by PhoenixFinch.
- The_BladeNinja has a resize script, first discovered with a version of the fatal skin, that makes EXE very small and fast. It is normally used as a joke to confuse players and sometimes appears in videos.[1]
- There is a very small chance for EXE's Too Slow ability to swipe at a player for 10 damage, but not grab them, though this is suspected to just be a bug.
- "You Can't Hide"'s name is a reference to the second stage from the original Sonic.EXE creepypasta, titled "You Can't Run".
- "Too Slow"'s name is a reference to one of the most well-known quotes of the original Sonic.EXE creepypasta: "You’re too slow, want to try again?"
- It may also be a reference to the transition between "Faker" and "Black Sun" in Vs. Sonic.exe, as EXE repeats the phrase while transforming.
- EXE's kill animation might be a reference to how he kills Alice (The soul inhabiting Amy).
- Excluding skins, EXE is currently the only character to have more than one chase theme. The theme played depends on the survivor's remaining health.
- EXE is a different entity from PCX, being a failed attempt at creating a vessel by Lord X, who is referenced in two of EXE's skins.
- EXE is one of the few monsters to have three death quotes, This is a trait shared with Niloticus.
- However PCX now has the most death quotes in-game, at a whopping 4 (6 if you count the removed one).
- If you use "Too Slow" while the speed boost is active from "Thorny Grave", the boost will pause during the animation and carry over once its finished.
- Despite being on the slower hand of monsters, EXE becomes one of the fastest in-game from the speed boost he gets when a player gets trapped.
