MECHANICS
Mechanics, as the title says, are content that are within the game to improve it in any method for both types of , this page is made to cover up every current mechanic in-game for both Survivors and Monsters
Status
The Status is a mechanic that appears for both classes during round (shown in the bottom left of the screen), which display the survivor's/monster's icon (as a monster, showing their current level and EXP), their stamina bar, their health bar (only for humans) and their coin meter.
The coin meter can be filled up by normally exploring the map, doing objectives, freeing survivors from traps, ending a chase, etc. As a monster, you will gain coins similar to a survivor, but instead through killing survivors, dealing damage, winning the round, etc.
The stamina bar is used when the survivor or monster sprints around the map with the "Shift" key. It will slowly drain through time and can be recharged by waiting, or, if you are monster, through some abilities. As survivor, if it depletes, you will get tired and walk slowly for a short while, unable to sprint for the duration.
The health bar is only displayed for humans. It displays the survivor's health. It will decrease when damaged by monsters through aspects such as EXE's traps, WYST's bombs, M1s, Abilities, etc. It can only be filled up with the medkit.
During the Halloween 2024 event, a candy counter displaying the amount of Candy collected during the round is present.
Survivor Bar and Monster Chance
At the top of the screen for both monsters and survivors is a bar displaying an overview of the current state that survivors are in, with a small red circle in the top left of each one displaying monster chance.
Monster chance can be obtained at the start of a new round, when completing any set of objectives, and when surviving a round. The person with the highest chance becomes monster and has their monster chance reset. In the case of a tie, the person is randomly picked. Monster chance is saved between servers.
- Green - The survivor is currently alive and inside a match.
- Red - The survivor is not inside the current match, ended a match while alive, or AFK.
- Grey - The survivor is dead, ended a match while dead, or AFK after dying.
- Light Red - The monster currently in play.
- Purple - This effect is exclusive to Ao Oni where everyone, whether alive, dead, or monster, will have their status as purple to hide if they are alive or dead, complimenting its Shapeshift ability.

Survivors
Objectives
Main article: Objectives
Despite monsters showing off their own objective, it is only a message. Objectives are mechanics that only survivors are capable of doing, as the name suggests, they are literal objectives scattered within the map that can be completed by holding the "E" key ("X" if playing on console) and give money upon completion. When survivors finish off a set of objectives on the map, they will gain an extra amount of coins, decrease the timer, and will gain 1 monster chance.
Items
Main article: Items
Items as the name suggests, are literal objects that survivors can pick up to use to help survivor's within a round, such as flashlights, gauntlets, speed boosts and more.
Upgrades
Main article: Upgrades
These can be bought by survivors on the shop, these will make the survivor have a effect that will certainly help out on something in specific, such as faster movement, higher health, viewing the monster and more.
Monsters
Abilities
These are the main content that monsters offer to help progress within a round. Abilities will often offer multiple buffs and movements to make the round easier for the monster, such as highlighting survivors, shapeshifting, teleporting, placing traps, and more. (The only monster to not have any abilities is the Zombie.)
