Oni's Mansion , also known as simply Mansion, is one of the multiple maps in Pillar Chase 2. It is inspired by the layout seen in the first Ao Oni game, although taking inspiration of an earlier version of the map, seen in Version 3.0. It is the signature of Ao Oni. This map was released alongside 4 others when the game released.

Appearance[]

Its appearance is a near replica of how it looks like in Ao Oni. The map is adjusted so that connecting rooms from the original game are cut out and certain rooms are shifted to fit the square-shaped area.

Several enterable closets are dotted around the map, which entered can passively heal you by 4 HP every few seconds.

Objectives[]

Collect Keys (0/12)[]

There are 2 keys located on the 3rd floor, 5 keys located on the 2nd floor and 5 keys located on the 1st floor.

  • Two are located on the 3rd floor, one on the sink of the bathroom and the other located on the edge of the bed in the bedroom on the furthest door from the stairs
  • One is located on the large dining room table on the furthest right of the map on the 2nd floor.
  • One is located on the fallen bookshelf next to the huge hole in the wall in the room to the left of the stairs on the 2nd floor.
  • Two are located in two separate rooms to each other on the north side of the 2nd floor, one on the left room where its in the top left and one on the right room, on the top left of the room, sitting in front of a framed picture of Fuwatty in his sprite from Ao Oni.
  • One key sits on the table on the 2nd floor, next to the stairs connecting the 1st and 2nd floor.
  • One key is located on the floor of the Japanese-style rooms, in a corner of the room that is nearest to the main hallway on the 1st floor.
  • One key is sitting on the kitchen counter of the kitchen/living room area on the 1st floor.
  • One key is sitting on the table of the library room.
  • One key sits on a table in the room that connects the jailcell/dungeon room and the library area
  • One key sits in between two closets in the jailcell room, behind where the monster spawns when the round begins.

Strategies[]

Monster[]

  • There is only one way to get to the second floor and two ways to return to the first floor, so take that information to your advantage when chasing survivors.
  • There being only one way to get to the second floor can pose limited visibility for survivors when looking out for the monster. A monster who has quiet footsteps can use this to their advantage when catching survivors off guard.
  • EXE's traps come in handy regarding getting to the second floor. They become tricky to avoid when placed on the stairs, and you can catch survivors off guard by using traps near the hole in the second floor, in narrow hallways, or in doorways.
  • PCX could also utilize his first ability (Found You) to teleport between the first and second floors, if survivors are positioned correctly.

Survivor[]

  • If the monster is not able to highlight players(showing where the survivors are, whether through ability cooldowns or generally), hiding in closets can be surprisingly viable.
  • Hiding in closets may be a good way to regenerate HP, this can be effective if you aren't in pursuit of a monster and you are in the need to be healed. Be aware of the AFK system as it may kill you if you stay in the closets too long and the fact you give off a louder heartbeat if you choose to hide in them, which monsters can easily hear if they are close enough.

Trivia[]

  • The mansion does have an official name, going by Jailhouse. Its name refers to the massive walls that surround it, resembling a prison.[1]
  • On the old map, there was a decal of a screenshot of somebody on discord asking for a picture of a cat (along with said picture) to be added as a random decal, which was hidden on the back of a shelf in one of the top floor rooms. It is unknown about when this was added/removed.
  • There is a softlock in this map. If a survivor enters the area where the monster spawns, enters the area between the 2 closets with the key and opens both closets while inbetween them, the survivor will get stuck, and won't be able to get out unless another Survivor or the Monster closes any of the 2 closets.
