Springtrap is the eighth monster in Pillar Chase 2. He's a dark green, rotting animatronic rabbit with the decaying corpse of William Afton inside, who is a major antagonist from the Five Nights at Freddy's series, developed by Scott Cawthon, and the main antagonist of his debut in Five Night's at Freddy's 3. He can be unlocked for 1150 Coins in the shop (Previously 1987 before the MX update, then 1555 before the Vita Mimic update, and 1250 before the Black Friday Event's conclusion). He was released on May 31st, 2024.

Appearance

Springtrap takes the same appearance as his original design. He is a dark, olive colored rabbit animatronic with multiple wires coming out of his body and a decayed corpse of William Afton inside. The animatronic suit is extremely decrepit and worn down, he has glowing white pupils and pale-yellow teeth, with the top portion of his right ear is missing. When the suit's face mask is removed, what remains of William Afton's face is visible albeit only the remaining flesh. His torso has two large open holes in it through which his endoskeleton can be seen entangled with some of his organs. The feet of his suit is completely missing exposing more endoskeleton entwined with more of Afton's rotting corpse. Springtrap brandishes a traditional fire axe as his main weapon of choice.

Gameplay

Springtrap has 110 Stamina, 18 Sprint Speed, and deals 40 DMG per hit. While he has an incredibly slow movement speed, he has an above average stamina pool, he has two ability that gives him better mobility and one that is a ranged attack. He is generally designed to either hit players in long distance with his axe or chase them down while axeless. He has four abilities: Ventilation Error, Phantom Walk, Axe Toss (when holding the axe) and Mechanical Slam (while being axeless).

In the beggining of each round, Springtrap will start equiped with his axe. But after using Axe Toss, Springtrap loses his axe and enters an axeless state. While axeless, Springtrap's M1s deal only 28 damage, but his sprint speed is increased (18 --> 20).

He can't throw his axe since he lost it, but because his hands are free, he can use Mechanical Slam instead.

Springtrap can take his axe back at any time by holding "E" near it, bringing him back to his normal state.

1 Ventilation Error Springchomp When pressing 1, Springtrap will start to glitch out and cause a ventilation error for 4.75 seconds. When a ventilation error is active, Springtrap's speed will be buffed by +3 and slowly regenerate stamina for the whole duration. Players that are near Springtrap will have their screen flash in and out and hyperventilate until they leave the radius of Ventilation Error. Regenerates stamina, and buffs Springtrap's speed. N/A
2 Phantom Walk Springfly When pressing 2, Springtrap instantly replenishes 15 stamina and becomes shrouded in smoke, getting +6 movement speed while darkening his own vision for 3 seconds and highlighting all players in the map. If a player makes contact with Springtrap while he is in this state, he will jumpscare them, applying the Fearful debuff to them. Springtrap can end this move early at any time by pressing the key / button again. Has a 20 seconds cooldown. Enhances mobility, replenishes stamina, highlights players and inflicts Fearful. N/A
3 Axe Toss

When pressing 3, Springtrap will wind up and chuck his axe forward TBA studs. When colliding with the wall or ground, it will stick to it. If the axe hits a survivor, they will be dealt 65 damage (100 damage with Fearful) and get stunned briefly. If Springtrap moves far away enough from the axe, it will automatically get teleported to his position. Stuns survivors and inflicts damage. N/A
3 (Replaces Axe Toss when axeless) Mechanical Slam

When pressing 3 while being axeless, Springtrap will take a step foward and swing his right arm in an attempt to grab a player. If he succesfully grabs one, he will lift them in the air and slam them back on the ground, dealing 55 total damage. Has an 8 seconds cooldown. Grabs and deals damage to survivors. TBA per hit

Trivia

  • Springtrap's model was made by GojiDev8, his animations were done by p1nkus_p0nkus, and his sounds were added by Razmainia.
  • Springtrap's chase theme is a remix of the violin part (At around 0:24) in the Five Night's at Freddy's 3 Teaser Trailer video, adding multiple sound effects from the game itself.[1] The old track might also reference a fan-made Dead by Daylight chase theme uploaded by Semi (The metal clanking sounds to be specific).
  • Springtrap's initial unlock cost, 1987, is a reference to The Bite of 87, an infamous incident in the Five Night's at Freddy's franchise.
  • Springtrap's height, if compared to other people, would mean that William Afton is abnormally tall for a normal human.
  • Before the Vita Mimic update, Springtrap was considered one of the most broken monsters in the game because of his Ventilation Error ability's stamina drain. After the update, this ability got reworked and now affects Springtrap's speed, and instead majorly changes player vision.
  • Springtrap has considerably the longest kill animation in the game when using his axe.
  • Springtrap (prior to being spring-locked), was one of two monsters that are/were canonically married and had children, the other being Baldi . WYST could be added to this list, as WYST is married to Smileghost, though it is unknown if they have children.
  • Springtrap was the first monster in the game to have 2 different kill animations. The second is Jeffrey Woods.
  • Springtrap is the only character with Rosemary and Vapor to be featured in the previous game, Pillar Chase 1.
    • His version in the previous game had the same faculty to make a sighing noise when he was out of stamina like the current version.
  • Springtrap is the first monster in the game to get 4 abilities.
