The Weird Yellow Smiling Thing, abbreviated as W.Y.S.T/WYST, initially teased May 27th, 2024, and officially added on July 12th, 2024, is the eleventh monster in Pillar Chase 2 after The Forest King. He is, as the name suggests, a yellow smiling thing. He is an original monster based off of Smile-Ghost from Innyume, an obscure Japanese horror game, and is also largely based on Pac-Man. He can be unlocked for 1500coins in the shop. (Previously 1980 before the Black Friday Event's conclusion).
WYST has a completely round body devoid of a lower torso, ribcage, or any other normally crucial structural features that most living creatures possess. He has completely black, oval-shaped eyes that seem to be devoid of any pupils, though it is possible that they are just extremely dilated. He has pale yellow skin and very long and spindly arms that he uses to move around in tandem with his much shorter legs, similarly to a gorilla. He has exposed black gums with many yellowed and protruding teeth, as well as a blue tongue. He has very simplistic feet, which are simply stubs, in contrast to his hands, which have elongated fingers ending in long black nails.
Gameplay[]
WYST has 100 Stamina, 21 Sprint Speed, and deals 35 DMG. He can keep up with players reasonably well and mostly relies on keeping the gap small during pursuit. Although he is slightly slow for his damage, WYST has the best stamina regen, the largest M1 hitbox and multi-kill potential in the game. He has two abilities: Gobble Bomb and Frenzy.

M1
M1
WYST swings to grab and bite in front of him, dealing 35 damage.
Deals damage to players.
1
Gobble Bomb
When pressing 1, WYST will crouch down and spit out a white ball in the direction the camera is facing that will ricochet off of objects and explodes after around 4-5 seconds, or after hitting a player, dealing 40 DMG and dealing some knockback. While the Gobble Bomb is still intact, WYST can use his M1 to launch the ball forward for a longer distance shot. If used during Frenzy, he spits out three bombs instead, spitting them in an arc farther ahead of him instead of just spitting them in front of him. Has a 5 second cooldown.
Shoots a projectile to deal damage to/kill players from a distance.
2
Frenzy
When pressing 2, WYST makes a low growling noise as his body slumps down and shakes violently, after which he enters Frenzy Mode, highlighting all players for a few seconds. In this mode, his movement speed and attacks become slightly faster, but his stamina will drain faster, and he will make a slight screaming noise while in Frenzy Mode, making it easier for players to know where he is. This lasts for 14 seconds, and has a cooldown of 35 seconds. Killing someone with M1 while in Frenzy increases Frenzy's duration.
Grants a variety of buffs at the cost of higher stamina drain and a screaming noise that helps players know where you are.
"Once the creator and ruler of his own universe, WYST was defeated by an even more powerful being. Now WYST no longer knows his true strength and resides on the planet earth inside a video game in which he can manipulate anyway he wants with his limited amount of knowledge. In his universe he was the original Pac-Man but now is a shell of his Former self. Even with his reduced strength and intelligence he is still a extremely dangerous and powerful being, do not underestimate him."
Lethality:★★★★★
When you die to WYST, he will say: "A DELICIOUS SNACK INDEED!!" When you die to a Gobble Bomb, he will say: "HEHEHE.. BOOM GOES THE MORSEL!!" The color of these messages are yellow.
WYST is very commonly used as a template for upcoming monsters.
Besides Innyume, WYST is also inspired by Pac-Man[1]; his old unlock cost was a reference to the year when Pac-Man first came out.
His intro audio contains the motif of the Pac-Man game start jingle.
When activating Frenzy Mode, the Pac-Man start jingle will also be heard. This however is client-sided and only the player using WYST will hear it.
Gobble Bomb is likely a reference to the pellets that Pac-Man has players collecting.
It's explosion sound is similar to roblox's rocket launcher Explosion sound.
During FrenzyMode, you can vaguely hear music that references the sound that plays when Pac-Man eats a Power Pellet, which turns all the ghosts blue, along with the screams of the victims that WYST ate who’s souls are trapped in his stomach for eternity
His breathing sounds are Pac-Man's eating sound but slowed down to 0.08 speed with it being reverbed.
Through Discord, additional information about WYST was given:[2]
WYST is apparently a powerful being with limitless potential who has a number of powers, including the ability to create life, teleport others, remove and reattach his limbs, take whatever form he desires (Including increasing his head size), and even transform reality into whatever he wants. However, he is too stupid to use most of these abilities due to his defeat at the hand of the "even more powerful being" in his old universe.
He is also married to Smile-Ghost from Innyume. For no reason whatsoever.[2]
It is unknown if his loss of knowledge on his true power has taken a toll on his marriage or not.
WYST's chase theme is a remix of Smile-Ghost's theme from his main game of inspiration.
Which in itself, is a mash-up of "Dichromatic Lotus Butterfly", a soundtrack that's usually associated with Reimu Hakurei from the Touhou Project series, alongside Pac-Man's traditional theme.
Every one of WYST's skins (except for False and Ghost) are his cousins.
WYST is one of 3 monsters who don't have a passive ability, the other being Inkfell and the other one being Valem.
WYST is occasionally used as a placeholder for upcoming monsters mainly using their sounds, Examples of these are PCX and Inkfell during their early development and testing.
WYST'sFrenzy was able to highlight pumpkins during the Halloween 2024 event.
WYST is the monster with the most victory poses, having 5. Ironically, he was the last monster to receive any victory poses at all (before PCX's inclusion), with all 5 being added at the same time.
WYST, if not following their initialism holds the longest name of any monster, exceeding about 23 letters and 4 words in total with his full name being "Weird Yellow Smiling Thing"
Alternatively, MX holds the shortest name of any monster, totaling only 2 letters in total.
If you look closely during his Frenzy you can actually see his teeth shaking slightly, this is best viewed from the sides with the camera raised slightly
WYST is one of the few monsters who cannot break the bone of a survivor with his normal attack, unless if he doesn't use his Gobble Bombs.
